Forney, Texas

The early residents of Devonshire may not have known it at the time they made their decision to build a dream home in this sweet spot, but after a year or two, most recognize the benefits of living in a “low pressure” town like Forney. 

This town, which is rich in history, is in northwestern Kaufman County. U.S. Highway 80 passes through the city as a four-lane limited-access highway, leading west 20 miles (32 km) to the center of Dallas and east 11 miles (18 km) to Terrell. Forney is about 4 miles (6 km) southeast of Lake Ray Hubbard, formerly known as Forney Lake, and now one of the premiere recreational lakes in Texas.
